Hotel Le Meurice, Paris
A night at Le Meurice can be interpreted as "Royalty for a night", my favourite description of this palatial Parisian Maison. From the arrival to the departure YOU are the King or Queen - a hotel which keeps what they promise - of course also because of the management of The Dorchester Collection - a group which stands for perfection.
My Junior Suite was very elegantly decorated, with chandeliers, expensive curtains and wooden tables, combined with finest white marble in the bathrooms. I always tried to have some time for a bubble bath with Penhaligon's toiletries in the deep soaking tub, but I prefered the enormous walk-in shower, which was told me is normally for two people. The bed does not only look simply gorgeous, the beds were heavenly. Breakfast is served either at casual Le Dali's and at the formal "Alain Ducasse" Restaurant. I chose the second option which was no fault at all. I have not experienced a more luxurious breakfast service yet. It was interesting to observe the upper-class of Paris having breakfast before deciding million-dollar deals. Place de Vendome, Place de la Concorde and the Louvre are 5 minutes on foot, while the Tuileries could count as the hotel's own garden - which means directly in front of the wonderful facade of Le Meurice. A perfect place for everyone wanting something more decadent and more traditional in the capital of fashion. |
